No. The PDF is read and split entirely in your browser and is never uploaded to a server. Your document content and personal data never leave your device.

By page range lets you click "Add range" to add rows, each with its own start/end page, creating one PDF per row. Every page needs no input — one click creates a separate PDF for each page (1 page = 1 file). Every N pages splits automatically into chunks of the page count you enter. Extract pages uses the same row input as page range, but instead of separate files it combines the selected pages into a single PDF.

If the result is a single file, it downloads directly as a PDF. If there are multiple files, they're bundled into a single ZIP for download.

Yes. Pages are combined in the order you added the rows — for example, adding a "5-6" row before a "1-3" row produces a PDF with pages 5-6 ahead of pages 1-3.

A password-protected or corrupted PDF can't be read and will produce an error. Remove the password first, then upload it.

If a row's start page is greater than its end page, or a value is outside the total page count, that row's inputs turn red and the split won't run. Fix the values and the error clears right away.
