The timer is now split into two separate tools: Single Timer and Repeat Timer. The existing timer keeps its /categories/timer/ URL and is now called “Single Timer,” and a new Repeat Timer was added for repeating a duration across multiple rounds automatically. Here’s what’s new:
- New Repeat Timer: repeats the same duration for a set number of rounds, or forever, with an optional rest between rounds.
- Accurate even in the background: instead of counting ticks, remaining time is recalculated from a stored end timestamp on every tick, so time that passed while the tab was hidden or the screen was off is caught up correctly.
- Remaining time in the tab title: while a timer is running, you can check the time left right in the browser tab title, even from another tab.
- Choose your alert sound: bell, beep, chime, or click.
- Settings are saved automatically: your last duration and sound choice are saved per tool in your browser, so they’re still there next time.
