We’ve reworked the Password Generator’s design and feature set.
- New word-phrase (passphrase) mode: Instead of random characters, combine words from a built-in list of 187 English words to build a password that’s easier to memorize or type by hand. Choose the word count, separator, and whether to capitalize the first letter or append a number.
- Deeper strength analysis: Every password now shows a strength level, entropy in bits, and an estimated crack time assuming 100 billion guesses per second.
- Batch generation: Set a count to generate several passwords at once, compare them in a list, and copy any single one or the whole list.
- 4 recommended presets: Quick-apply settings for common cases — general account login, maximum strength for finance, sites that block symbols, and Wi-Fi you’ll type by hand.
- Keyboard shortcuts: Enter to regenerate, Ctrl(⌘)+C to copy the current password, and L to generate a list.
